The trail

In the field.
And in life.

The same lessons show up on the mountain and at the kitchen table. Here's the route we keep walking.

Our story

The pursuit was never the point. He is.

Seek & Harvest started in a tree stand, in the quiet hour before anything moves. We're hunters, fathers and friends who believe the same God who made the field is the One worth chasing hardest.

Someone took the time to show us the way, in the woods and in our faith. The trail below is the route they walked us down. Now it's our turn to walk it with the next generation.

Four waypoints

Every season walks the same trail.

Every hunting season follows a rhythm: you scout, you pursue, you wait, and if the Lord allows, you harvest. The longer we've hunted, the more we've noticed that a life of faith follows the same route.

Each waypoint below has a lesson from the field, the same lesson from life, a verse to hold onto and a question to carry with you.

Scout

In the field

Good hunts are won long before opening day. You walk the ground in the off-season, find the water, read the rubs and trails, and learn how the wind moves through the draws. By the time it matters, you already know the country.

In life

Faith works the same way. You learn His Word in the quiet seasons so it's already in you when the hard ones come. Nobody scouts after the storm hits.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Psalm 119:105 BSB

Pursue

In the field

Early alarms. Cold climbs. Glassing the same ridge for hours until it finally gives something up. Pursuit is mostly showing up again when you'd rather stay in the truck.

In life

Seeking God with your whole heart isn't a one-time decision. It's a daily climb, made mostly of small, unglamorous steps in the right direction.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”

Matthew 6:33 BSB

Wait

In the field

A lot of hunts are won by whoever can sit still the longest. Waiting is when you start noticing things: the squirrel that gives away movement, the wind shifting, the light changing on the tree line.

In life

Waiting on the Lord isn't wasted time. It's where patience and trust get built, and where you start to see what He's been doing all along.

“But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”

Harvest

In the field

When the moment comes, you take it with respect. Then the real work starts: caring for the animal, processing it well, and sharing it with the people around your table.

In life

What He has prepared is better than anything we could have chased down on our own. A harvest is something you receive with gratitude and give away with joy.

“Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy.”

Psalm 126:5 BSB

What has He provided that you could share with someone else?
